Simpl answer to that is you dont haved to run water
endurance or skirace yhou may need it,but there is no need to in curcuit(but can still fry eggs on the caseing after a run)and if that worries you, never had a problem with water contamination in any one i did run with water, plus,if you dump the outlet under your left hand, makes a good indicator as to wether you have any water in the engine, just make sure that the flow is after the engin pickup
Cheers Chops 8-)

Redline shockproof gear oil (light)
highly recomended ...with the cell boat there is no air cooling flowing around it at all and this stuff is fantastic.
dont run water and we have stopped the egg frying problem :)

The REDLINE is a very good oil, been told that a number of Super cars run it even though other oil brands are on the car. Was told years ago that a lot of the GN boat in USA used to no water in the box as they thought it was something else to go wrong plus some casales have the water jacket cut out when they have big % gears , no room. We never had water in a a Casale box, got warm , but not hot enough to burn you. Had a ski boat with an "early" Argo, could have fried eggs on that, had to put water through it.Seems if a box is set up properly won't run too hot. But how hot is hot? you can't touch a truck diff or gear box after trip on the highway, has any one measured V drive oil temp?

talking to phillip haynes he recomends water through his gearboxes ,i have always run a argo with the old kendall 50 wt oil in it but always run water taken from pass side bottom of the chev block 1/8 restricter in #6 hose so not to affect block pressure and could put your hand on the box at anytime.and ran it outside the driver as what chops said always new the block had water.

Most oils are designed to operate at around 100 to 110c for the best lubrication and efficency, most box failure is with bearings because temp is not high enough to 'dry" water/moisture out of the oil so bearings rust and fail.Try touching a car or truck diff or transmission that has run for an hour, can't hold your hand on them.

Redline shockproof is about as good as you can get, but not easy to find up this way (Taree ) tried to get some shockproof heavy to run in my Harley gearbox but there are no distributors here. Bursons auto parts port maquarie are listed as a reseller but you might have to buy a box if they have to order it in. The real thing guys use Redline in their v-drive.
try here http://www.redlineoil.com.au/reseller-locations.asp
I was depressed last night, so I rang lifeline. Got a call center in Afghanistan and told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
